SuperBowl XL - The Gift

Superbowl 40 was awarded to the Pittsburgh Steelers by the referees. Say what you want, think what you want, but that is how I will always remember it and how it will be told to my grandkids. Did Pittsburgh deserve to be there? Absolutely, they are a very good team that beat everyone they had to in order to get to the superbowl. Ironically, all the bitching that they did in the past when the Pats beat them every year came to fruition, the better team didn't win.
When is the last time you saw an OFFENSIVE pass interference? IF you think there was holding on Hasselbeck's pass to Stevens at the one, you must be a Steeler fan - or a ref. IF you didn't see holding on Randal El's TD pass (watch #84 on the right side of the O-line during replays, the guy holds for about 8 seconds) you must be blind, a Steeler fan - or a ref. If you think that Rothlesberger got in the endzone....well I might give you that one. Did you notice how quick the refs were to award the ball to Pitt on the Hasselbeck 'fumble'?

At least one thing that the Pats have known for quite some time was exposed in front of the world. Ben Roethlesberger SUCKS. 9-21 for 123 and 2 INT's. SUCKS.

Last and certainly not least, how bad were the commercials? I laughed out loud twice. At least if you have a shitty superbowl we should get good commecials. I honestly think these were the worst SB ads I can remember.

Thank GOD this season is finally over and we can get on with preparation for bringing the Lobardi Trophy back where it belongs.

PS...does anyone else think that Hines Ward is gay? Seriously.

I agree with everything you say and how about the below the waist tackle called on hasselback but not on Big Ben. an how many flags were thrown on the Steelers in the 2nd half by my count none. This again is a pathetic job done by what is suppose to be impartial refs if you are going to call things on one team then you need to do the same on the other team as well. Speaking as a female fan even a mere woman could see the holding calls that should of but were not called on Pittsburg. Way to go Seattle you totally out played Pittsburg and Matt you had a great game good luck next year. I feel this was a tainted Superbowl. One that should be totally forgotten.. Question why boo Tom Brady for the coin toss Jealousy hmmmm I wonder!

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. Hasselbeck had as many good plays as he does hairs on his head. Yes the tables were scewed towards Pitt, but Pitt was not outplayed. Pitt was just the lesser of two evils in Suck-Bowl XL.

the officiating has been awful this entire off season. look back to wild card weekend, those of you who watched the bucs vs. washington game know that there were stupid calls made the whole game and it cost TB the game. flash forward to new england vs. denver, ben watson's amazing struggle that resulted in not only keeping champ out of the endzone but forcing a fumble in the endzone giving us the ball on our 20!!! but no, of course our short sighted friends missed that obvious fumble and THAT call ALONE cost us the game. not sure whats going on, but looks like now its big bucks that wins championships.

tom brady did seem to be remembering those boo's and i am sure come next season pitsburgh wont be booing, they'll be too busy getting their butt kicked by mr. brady.

Y'all are adolescent.

Steelers won straaight up, Seattle had more chances than Richard Gere in a gay bar, and couldn't get it done.

Better luck next year.

Remember it is Chuck Noll after whom Belichick fashions himself.
